DONATION POLICY Our Library always welcomes donations from the public. But unfortunately, donated materials are not actually free for us due to costs associated with time that staff and volunteers spend to evaluate, process, and store donations. Although we appreciate your donations, many donated items are not in high demand and we cannot keep them due to storage constraints. Woodburn Public Library accepts the following donations: Books in good condition (no stains, excessive fading/yellowing, or other damage) Recorded books on CD, DVDs, and music CDs in their original packaging Materials we cannot accept include: Materials in poor condition: these may have missing pages, damaged binding, water damage, mold damage, and the like Textbooks Reader’s Digest Condensed books Training manuals Notebooks VHS and cassette tapes Magazines and newspapers All donations become the property of the Library via the Friends of Woodburn Public Library, to use as it deems appropriate, and cannot be returned to the donor. Your book donations will most likely be sold in our used bookstore for the benefit of the Library, and in rare cases, will be added to our collection. Please note that staff and volunteers will not remove inscriptions, names, or other identifying material from donated books. Please check through your books before donating them. For any questions concerning your donation and to obtain a receipt for tax purposes, please contact Liana Abakelia, Technical Services Associate, at [PHONE REDACTED]. Thank you for your support and understanding!
