BUSINESS FROM THE AUDIENCE This portion of the agenda allows the public to introduce items for Board consideration not already scheduled on the agenda. a. Karen Linton  Spoke about the interest in an off-leash dog area at Senior Estates Park. 5. NEW BUSINESS a. Senior Estate Park – Dog off-leash area  City staff presented designated non-fenced off leash area concept to parks board explaining petition provide that was presented to City Council. Park Board Members agreed in consensus that this was a good solution for a trial basis. b. Aquatic Center Supervisor  Introduction of new Aquatic Center Supervisor Brian Powers c. YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties Rec, Programs Presentation  YMCA staff presented on future programs to be offered in Woodburn in partnership with the City. These programs include City of Woodburn Recreation and Park Board Agenda Online November 10, 2021 6:00pm Virtual Meeting: ---PAGE BREAK--- Basketball, Volleyball, Tee Ball, Track and Adult Sports. They also shared information on their scholarship program. d. Recreation Supervisor  Still in the process of recruiting for the position. 6. OLD BUSINESS a. Legion Park Turf Field Update  Contract has been awarded and will begin planning meeting in December and January with ground breaking in April with estimated completion in July. 7. DIVISION REPORTS FROM DEPARTMENT a. Aquatics  Currently we’re having about 60 visitors a day. But it’s growing as as November brings the return of high school swimming. We had about 60 kids a day for high school swimming. Fall pumpkin event was small but successful, additional Spring events coming soon. b. Recreation  Park Master Plan review A. Delayed till future in-person meeting c. Parks & Facilities  Heritage Park playground is in the process of being recoated.  Wood planks being replaced on all garbage cans and benches in the following locations: Hermiston Pond/Trail and Centennial Park. 8.
