Woodburn Planning Commission Meeting Minutes September 26, 2024 Convened: The Planning Commission met at 7:00 p.m. both in person and through a public online/virtual session via Microsoft Teams. Roll Call: Chair Ellsworth Present Vice-Chair Hernandez-Mejia Present Commissioner Bartel Absent Commissioner Berlin Absent Commissioner Bravo Present Commissioner Corning Present Commissioner Lassen Present (Late) Staff Present: Chris Kerr, Community Development Director Chris Killmer, Assistant City Attorney Renata Wakeley, Special Projects Director Introduction: Chair Ellsworth opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and asked Staff to begin roll-call. Chair Ellsworth led everyone through the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes: None. Business from the Audience: None. Communications from Staff: None. Public Hearing: None. Work Session: LA 24-01 Special Projects Director Renata Wakeley gave her presentation for Legislative Amendment LA 24- 01: Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment to incorporate previously established Urban Reserve Area (URA) and discussion followed afterwards. No action taken or decision by the Planning Commission. Commissioner Lassen arrived virtually around 7:24 p.m.to the meeting during Director Wakeley’s presentation. LA 23-01 Community Development Director Chris Kerr gave his presentation for Legislative Amendment LA 23- 01: Southwest Area Transportation Plan update and discussion followed afterwards. No action taken or decision by the Planning Commission. Business from the Commission: None. Updates from Staff: Director Kerr gave updates from the recent City Council Meeting and the upcoming meetings on October 10 and 24, 2024. October 10 will be about LA 24-01: Comprehensive Plan Map ---PAGE BREAK--- Woodburn Planning Commission July 25, 2024 2 Amendment to incorporate previously established Urban Reserve Area (URA) and October 24 will be deliberation and final decision on CU 24-02: US Market gas station on Newberg Hwy. Director Wakeley mentioned about the invasive species Emerald Ash Borer and that the City of Woodburn is working with the Department of Agriculture & Department of Forestry to gain more information on how to combat this growing problem. Adjournment: Chair Ellsworth entertained a motion. Commissioner Corning moved that the Planning Commission adjourned, and Vice-Chair Hernandez-Mejia seconded. Chair Ellsworth called for a vote, and it was unanimously in favor.
