A: The Woodburn Police Department (WPD) includes the Community Response Division (CRD) whose two Community Service Officers (CSO) address concerns about unsafe, unhealthy or conditions in homes, neighborhoods and the entire community. The goal of code enforcement activities is to maintain the highest quality of life possible for our citizens by ensuring healthy and safe neighborhoods. That happens through enforcement of City Ordinances, and specifically addressing issues that have been identified as a public nuisance. While the department relies on education, there are fines, fees and legal action available to ensure compliance with this important set of laws. Q: What is a City ordinance? A: Most city ordinances are city council directives intended to maintain a clean and visually attractive city. Q: How do I go about reporting an ordinance violation? A: Simply contact the business line for the Police Department [PHONE REDACTED], walk in to the Woodburn Police Department or use the Woodburn Police App. Q: Is a person who violates an ordinance subject to arrest? A: No. Violations of ordinances can result in civil citations with a monetary fine, but not criminal prosecution. Q: How long can I park my RV, camper, trailer, trailered boat, etc. on the street? A: You would be permitted up to 48 hours as long as it is parked for the purpose of loading or unloading. Also, if it is owned by the resident or guest of the resident of the property it is parked adjacent to, it is not being used for human occupancy while parked on the street and it is parked in a manner that does not interfere with traffic or create a hazard by obstructing the view of other drives. Q: Can I park my boat, trailer or RV on my property? A: Yes you are able park them on your property as long as they are parked on an improved surface (concrete, asphalt, rock or landscaping pavers). Q: What is considered a junked vehicle? A: A vehicle that has a flat tire, missing wheels, missing essential parts of the drivetrain (engine, transmission, driveshaft or axle) or vehicles with extensive body damage would be considered junked. Q: How tall can my neighbors grass be? A: Grass and weeds can be no more than 10” tall between May 1 and Sept. 30. Q: How do I request a speed trailer?
