WOODBURN PUBLIC ARTS AND MURALS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES FROM THE APRIL 18, 2018 MEETING Attendees: Frank Lonergan, Sharon Schaub, Sharon Corning, Colleen Vancil, Merri Berlin, Christine Lopez Staff: Chris Kerr, Helen Koshkaroff • New Committee Members o New Members appointed by council members on April 9th: Philip Scott, Judy Massaia, Sharon Corning • Public Arts and Mural Project Planning: o Discussed projects that could be implemented in reasonable timeframe and have an impact for the community. Following is the prioritized projects of interest: • Water Tower - • Recommend a two color paint pallet with an artistic design. o PAMC liked the darker green lower half and a blue, yellow, blue-green upper half. o Staff will have colors applied to a picture of the tower for concept consideration • Chair Lonergan challenged Committee members to come up with a design o Two designs have been submitted • Plaza Fountain Art - • Committee discussed adding bronze sculptures around the fountain o Cost was discussed along with off the shelf purchase • Chair Lonergan requested Committee members to develop design concepts to share at the next meeting. Fish, heron, frogs & bulldog were presented. • Discussion about adding tiles or mosaic around the fountain. o Due to leaks in the fountain staff will discuss possibilities with City. o Capaces Mural - • Committee will work on this project at a later date • Next Meeting: o Wednesday – May 1, 2018 @ 10:00 a.m. @ Metropolis 347 N Front Street, Woodburn, OR 97071
