WOODBURN PUBLIC ARTS AND MURALS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 28, 2018 MEETING ATTENDEES: FRANK LONERGAN, SHARON SCHAUB, COLLEEN VANCIL, MERRI BERLIN, CHRISTINE LOPEZ STAFF: Chris Kerr, McKenzie Granum, Jamie Johnk, Helen Koshkaroff GUEST: SHARON CORNING New Committee Members o Planning Commission Recommendation – Sharon Corning o Additional persons interested in serving: Judy Massaia Public Arts and Mural Project Planning: o Discussed projects that could be implemented in reasonable timeframe and have an impact for the community. Following is the prioritized projects of interest: 1. Water Tower - Recommend a two color paint pallet with an artistic design. Chair Lonergan challenged Committee members to come up with a design Staff will have colors applies to a picture of the tower for concept consideration 2. Plaza Fountain Art - Committee discussed adding bronze sculptures around the fountain Chair Lonergan requested Committee members to develop design concepts to share at the next meeting. Discussion about adding tiles or mosaic around the fountain. 3. Library Alley Mural - Committee will work on this project at a later date o Capaces Mural - 1. Staff will draft a letter requesting that landscape around murals be maintained. Next Meeting: o Wednesday – April 18, 2018 @ 10:00 a.m. @ Woodburn City Hall
