Box 158 · Whitefish, MT 59937 · (406) 863-2400 · Fax: (406) 863-2419 REQUEST FOR QUOTES DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK CLEANING September 29, 2022 Dear Interested Contractors: With the increased number of people visiting our downtown, the cleanliness of sidewalks has significantly deteriorated. While Whitefish City Code, 7-1A-6, requires property owners to maintain and clean the sidewalks abutting their property, the City of Whitefish (City), in partnership with the Heart of Whitefish, has agreed to assist individual businesses contributing to our partnership by coordinating and contracting for services with a qualified entity to power wash and remove gum from our sidewalks during our busy summer months. To minimize the impacts to our residents, visitors and businesses, power washing of sidewalks may only take place between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. A schedule by business must be provided and approved by the City. The contractor must provide all necessary equipment, signage, waste disposal, and water to be used for power washing. Furthermore, the contractor must have an active business license and meet insurance and other requirements for a City contract. The City and Heart of Whitefish would like a demonstration of the sidewalk cleaning, including power washing and gum removal, to ensure all parties agree on the state of cleanliness expected. The location of the demonstration will be identified by the City and compensation will be agreed upon prior to the work being completed. If you would like to provide a demonstration prior to providing the City with a quote, please contact me to schedule an appointment. The City is requesting a quote for the services identified below: 1. Cost/Linear Foot for power washing of all sidewalks identified on the attached map, including gum removal, in October 2022 (approx. 4,345 Linear Feet). 2. Cost/Linear Foot for power washing of all sidewalks identified on the attached map, including gum removal, in May 2023 (approx. 4,345 Linear Feet).
