Updated 4/1/2024 PUBLIC NOTICE VACANCIES ON CITY BOARDS/COMMITTEES ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE – Two positions, 3-year term. Applicants shall reside within the corporate limits of the city of Whitefish, are employed or own a business in the city of Whitefish, or own property in the city of Whitefish; or be a Montana licensed architect, or licensed design professional (i.e. architect, engineer, or landscape architect). The Committee meets twice a month April – October, and once a month November – March in the mornings. BOARD OF APPEALS – One position, term not designated. The Board of Appeals determines suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide for reasonable interpretations of the International Building Code. Applicant must be qualified by experience or training to pass on matters pertaining to building construction. The Committee meets as needed. BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS – Three positions, 2-year terms. Applicants must have resided within the city limits for 2 years and within the State for 3 years and must be at least 21 years old. The Commissioners meet once a month in the evenings. FLATHEAD CONSERVATION DISTRICT BOARD – One position, to serve as an urban supervisor, to complete the term ending 12/31/2025. Pursuant §76-15-311 M.C.A applicants may reside within the city limits of Whitefish; For more details on this board please see their website IMPACT FEE ADVISORY COMMITTEE –One position, 2-year term. Applicant shall be a representative of the development community and shall reside or work within City limits. This Committee meets once a year, or as needed. POLICE COMMISSION – One position, 3-year term. Open to City residents who have maintained residency within the city limits of Whitefish for one year prior to appointment to the Commission. The Commission meets as needed. RESORT TAX MONITORING COMMITTEE – Two positions, 3-year terms. Applicants shall be an owner, operator or representative of any restaurant/bar business, retail business, lodging business, business owner at large within the corporate limits of the city of Whitefish. The Committee meets once a month in the mornings. WHITEFISH COMMUNITY HOUSING – One position to complete term ending 12/31/2024. Applicant shall be a member of the public with relevant professional or personal expertise in housing policy, property management, housing programs, end-users of community housing programs, or housing advocacy. The Committee meet on the 4th Monday of every month. WHITEFISH CONVENTION AND VISITORS’ BUREAU – Three positions, 3-year terms. Applicants shall reside in the city of Whitefish postal district (59937), or reside in Flathead County, but outside the city of Whitefish postal district (59937), as long as the applicant has an ownership interest or managerial position at a business located and operating within the city of Whitefish postal district (59937). Openings include preference for representatives of finance, large lodging, small lodging, restaurant/bar business, transportation business or the Whitefish Lake Golf Course. The Committee meets once a month. WHITEFISH HOUSING AUTHORITY – One position, complete the term ending 12/31/2026. The Housing Authority follows the terms and conditions defined in the Montana Annotated Code Title 7, Chapter 15, Part 44 and 45. This Committee meets the 4th Wednesday at 4:00 pm. WHITEFISH LAKE AND LAKESHORE PROTECTION COMMITTEE- One position, complete the term ending 12/31/2024. Applicant must be a lakefront property owner and reside within the corporate limits of the city of Whitefish. Committee meets once a month.
