Copyright 2017 Robert Peccia & Associates, Kalispell, Montana SOMERS AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT Whitefish, Montana Project Description The City of Whitefish is planning to reconstruct 6 blocks of Somers Avenue, from East 2nd Street to East 8th Street in the year 2018. The City has selected the engineering firm of Robert Peccia & Associates (RPA) of Kalispell to assist them with project management, public involvement, engi- neering design and construction administration and obser- vation. The project will generally include roadway recon- struction and water main removal and replacement. Public Involvement Throughout the development of the project, there will be several opportunities for public involvement. There will be informational newsletters, questionnaires, and public meetings. The purpose of the public involvement is to make sure the design allows input from the residents and keeps you all informed as the project moves forward. Questionnaire Enclosed with this newsletter is a questionnaire. Please tell us if there is anything about your property that could assist with the design and construction of the project. If you have underground irrigation, please take time to com- plete a sketch of your irrigation system on the back of the questionnaire. Communication is Key It is critical with these projects to establish a clear and open line of communication. May 2017 – Newsletter No. 2: Provide summary of preliminary design concepts. June 2017 – Public Meeting No. 1: Hold public meet- ing to review preliminary design concepts. Project design will be completed in late 2017 or early 2018. The project will be let for construction bids in early 2018. Project construction is scheduled for the summer months of 2018. The exact construction start date and duration has not yet been established.
