Best Management Practices (BMPs) For Stormwater Management Permit To address the requirements of construction stormwater management, Best Management Practices (BMPs) should be employed to reduce soil erosion and sediment loss from the site and manage construction-generated waste. Below is a list of BMPs used for each area of concern. For questions regarding how to implement BMPs refer to the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) Erosion and Sediment Control Best Management Practices (BMPs) Reference Manual and Field Manual. Current copies of the manuals are kept on file in the office of Public Works and at the MDT website www.mdt.mt.gov.
