Contact Karin Hilding, Public Works Department, [PHONE REDACTED] Water Quality Protection Plan Whitefish Lake Water Quality Protection Plan City Code: • All development of property within 75 feet of the lake must submit a water quality protection plan in accordance with the Water Quality Protection Regulations, Section 11.3.29 of the Whitefish City Code. • The water quality protection plan must be developed by a qualified professional and must make recommendations regarding stormwater management, impervious surface, grading and filling, and vegetation protection and restoration so the estimated discharge of sediment, nutrients, and other pollutants to the lake during and after construction would is no greater than if the site had a seventy-five (75) foot buffer. Water Quality Protection Plan Report must include the following information: Site Description • Topography • Hydrogeology • Soils Design Elements • Erosion and Sediment Control Plan • Protection of Existing Vegetation Plan • Storm Water Treatment Plan – Treatment equivalent to a 75’ buffer is required. Treatment of parking lot and driveway runoff should be the focus. • Landscaping Plan – Include recommendations to limit use of fertilizer near the lake. • Construction Sequencing Plan • Monitoring of erosion control and revegetation plan • Signatures of Environmental Professional Do not include a large appendix with boiler plate erosion control information. Water Quality Protection Plan Sheets • Provide 11x17 plan Site Map, Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, Storm Water Treatment Plan, Landscaping Plan (include protection of existing vegetation).
