INVITATION TO BID Notice is hereby given that electronic bids for construction of the Baker Avenue Viaduct will be received by the City of Whitefish until 2:00 p.m. local time on July 24, 2024. The electronic bids will then be opened and read aloud. The project is funded by the City of Whitefish and is subject to all applicable state and local regulations as indicated within the project manual. All work must be substantially complete within 60 calendar days after the commencement date stated in the notice to proceed. Notice to proceed will be issued on September 3, 2024. The work site is located along Baker Avenue, between Edgewood Place and Railway Street in Whitefish, MT. This project generally includes asphalt removal and patching, curb and concrete sidewalk, updated asphalt shared use path surfacing, water main stub, pavement markings, street lighting, landscaping, irrigation, and related work in accordance with the plans and specifications. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Bid Bond (uploaded via payable to the City of Whitefish, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful Bidders shall furnish approved Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount, along with required Insurance coverage. Actual prior experience performing the type of work in this project is an important factor for performance of this project. The Bidder is required to submit at the time of the bid with the bid proposal packet proof of experience performing work of a similar nature. Lack of experience in successfully completing projects of a similar size, with similar complexity may be construed as constituting a non-qualified bidder as determined by the City of Whitefish. The contractor and any of the contractor’s subcontractors doing work on this project will be required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) except as listed in MCA 39-9-211.
