The scope-of-work for the project is enclosed. It is not the intent of the City of Whitefish to favor one vendor; however, we do, from time to time, rely on one or more vendors’ help in writing specifications. We will accept all reasonable bids with reasonable exceptions clearly noted, and all bids will be given consideration. Bids will be opened on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. MST. Bids should be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Whitefish City Clerk Michelle Howke, 418 E 2nd Street, Whitefish, Montana 59937. Each envelope shall be plainly marked: “Bid – WFD Pumper”. Envelopes must also include the bidder’s company name. The City of Whitefish reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals, to waive technicalities or informalities, and to accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Whitefish Fire Department. Bids shall include: - detailed specifications for proposed boat and trailer, - total cost for proposed boat and trailer, - the build schedule for proposed boat. No bid shall be valid unless signed. If you have any questions, please e-mail Fire Chief Joe Page at [EMAIL REDACTED]. ---PAGE BREAK--- SCOPE OF WORK – RESCUE AIRBOAT AND TRAILER HULL: • 18’ Aluminum Hull length • 8’ Aluminum Hull width • 28” Deep Side Height • 3/16” 5086 aluminum bottom, transom, back splash plate (Marine Grade Aluminum) • Sides & Bulkhead to be .125 thickness – 5086-aluminum. • Extended bow with Recessed deck lid on bow of hull framed with 1 ½” aluminum hat channel, two drains, T-Handle latch, and spring to hold open. • Bottom of the hull will be reinforced with 2” x 2” x ¼” aluminum T-Bars • The bottom of the sides will have a chime turned down to aid in maneuverability. • All bolts, nuts, washers, etc., will be stainless steel except in engine stand where extra strength is needed. • Decking and floors will have non-skid flooring. • ½” Stainless steel bow eye • 2 drain plugs at the rear of the boat. • Bottom running surface of the hull will have 3/8” black UHMW Marine polymer. • Walk around of 6” with non-skid flooring on it. GRASS RAKE: • 24” Grass Rake with covered nose roll. • Standard USCG Navigational Red/Green lights on sides. • Step built into the grass rake to make ease of docking. ENGINE STAND: • Automotive built out of 1” x 1” square stainless-steel tubing (16g) • All mounts to be shock mounted to prevent vibration. • Mounting bracket to be incorporated into engine stand for the 50-gallon fuel tank under motor. ---PAGE BREAK--- CAGE: • Built out of 7/8” and 1” polished stainless-steel tubing, covered for protection with solid rods to create cage. • Construction to include installed 4’ welded aluminum rudders with stainless steel rods, 4 polymer bushings, 8 – stainless steel heim joints. • Cage to be a separate part of the engine stand. • Stainless steel tabs for mounting to engine and seat stand and for steering cable mounts. • Safety guard installed on front of cage to cover pulleys on the motor. • White USCG navigational light mounted at top/rear of cage. SEATING: • Two single seats up top for driver and passenger with gauge panel between them. • Aluminum dry box with doors with T-Handle latches under top seat. • Quad seat for front seating. • Aluminum dry box with doors with T-Handle latches under bottom seat. • Grab handles on both sides of seats (except for driver’s position) • Custom Seat covers with rain covers. • Carpet inside both dry boxes. • Windshield and roof provided over the two driver seating positions. INSTRUMENT PANEL: • Gauge panel with drink holders, glove box for storage with dual-usb chargers inside. • Tachometer, Oil pressure gauge, Ampere gauge, Water temperature gauge (Marine Type) • 12 volt accessory outlet • Rocker switches • Ignition/starter switch (Marine Type) • Rain cover built for gauge panel console. FUEL TANK: • 50 Gallon aluminum tank with remote fill neck. • Shock mounted with rubber gaskets. • USCG approved fuel lines. • Large Fuel filter/water separator WATER COOLING SYSTEM: • Aluminum radiator (large) mounted low. • Radiator guard made of expanded stainless steel. • Radiator hoses to be Coast Guard approved – Marine • Rust resistant fittings. • Radiator to be mounted in shock mounted rubber gaskets. • Expansion tank for antifreeze overflow. • Large heavy duty Oil cooler w/braided oil lines and AN fittings.
