City Ordinance Number 03-23 "Prohibits the provision of permanent water and/or sewer service to any newly constructed or remodeled structure until such structure has complied fully with all city codes." Permanent water and/or sewer service will be granted only after all code requirements are confirmed to be complete. Codes include, but are not limited to, such items as: paving, landscaping, required permits & inspections and payment of applicable fees. A financial guarantee in the form of a bond or letter of credit with a specified completion date may be required for any work that cannot be immediately completed. *Party Wall or Common Wall Drywall Inspections* All drywall on the common wall/firewall must be 5/8” Type X and continuous from the foundation to the underside of the roof sheathing. Two separate fire rated walls: • The property line side of the fire rated wall, at all floors and including trusses, requires inspection prior to standing the walls or trusses with fire rated tape applied. • The house side of the fire rated wall, at all floors and including trusses, requires inspection prior to taping. One common wall with two hour rating: • First layer on each side of the common wall, at all floors and including trusses, requires inspection with fire tape applied. • Second layer on each side of the common wall, at all floors and including trusses, required inspection prior to taping.
