The Union County Farmers Barket features: Separate large & small dog areas Double gated entry Dog agility equipment Dog/human drinking fountains (seasonally) Multiple dog waste disposal stations Pavilion with benches for shade On-leash walking trail along beautiful Butternut Creek with dog waste station The Farmers Barket is located at 407 Farmers Market Way across the creek from the Union County Farmers Market. Turn north at the traffic light at Hwy 515 & the Glen Gooch Bypass in Blairsville, GA. Did you know….. Although pets (except trained service animals) are not allowed in the market area, the Humane Society Mountain Shelter offers free, covered dog sitting from 9am-noon Saturdays during the Farmers Market. Union County also has a Dog Park Trail system located adjacent to the Senior Center across the highway from Meeks Park. It features over a mile of on-leash walking trails, small off-leash areas, waste stations and drinking fountain. Owners are legally responsible for their dogs and any injuries/damages caused by them. All dogs must wear a collar with a valid license and have current vaccinations required by law. No more than two dogs per person. Dogs must be under control and supervised by owner at all times. Dogs showing aggression towards people or other animals must be removed from park. Dog waste must be cleaned up by owner IMMEDIATELY. You must be at least 16 years of age to supervise a dog in the park. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and closely supervised at all times. Equipment is designed for DOGS ONLY. Children are not permitted on equipment. Dogs must be leashed prior to entering and exiting park. Dogs outside of the fenced area must be leashed at all times. Gates must be closed after entrance & exit. Don’t bring a small dog in an area designated for large dogs (or vice versa). Don’t let small kids roam around the park unattended. Leave kids at home or keep them close. DO Don’t contribute to the spread of disease… Don’t pollute our water… Clean up after your pup! Leave the park if you see signs of canine aggression or your dog shows signs of anxiety or fear. Encourage dogs to take breaks & drink plenty of water. Make sure your dog has proper socialization & basic recall skills.
