Poll workers are the backbone of county-run elections. Working at the polls can be fun, a learning experience and a great way to do your part to ensure that elections in your community are fair and accurate. Contact the county elections office about how to apply. 2025 BOARD MEETING CALENDAR TUESDAY, JANUARY 21 TUESDAY, MARCH 18 TUESDAY, MAY 20 TUESDAY, JUNE 17 Election Day (PSC Special Primary) FRIDAY, JUNE 20 – 11AM *Regular Meeting and Certification of PSC Special Primary TUESDAY, JULY 15 TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7 For certification of City of Thomson and Town of Dearing Municipal Elections All meetings are open to the public. Unless otherwise posted all meetings will convene at 5PM. Meetings are held in the Grand Jury Room, 2nd floor, of the old Courthouse: 337 Main Street, Thomson, GA. 2025 MCDUFFIE & STATE ELECTIONS CALENDAR ---PAGE BREAK--- HOW TO VOTE Three Ways To Cast A Ballot Early Voting in person Georgia voters have three weeks before Election Day for early voting, including two Saturdays. Runoffs have a shorter period for early voting. Hours will be posted leading to advance voting dates. Absentee Voting by mail or drop box In Georgia, you can cast an absentee ballot for any election, even if you won’t be absent from the county on Election Day. You can request it online or by mail, and when it comes, return it by mail or in the drop box located in the McDuffie County elections office. Election Day Voting at your polling place You can vote in person on Election Day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at your assigned polling place.
