Summit County Engineering Residential Inspection Checklist Rough Grade Inspection: (Required Inspection) Verify driveway is 50’ from all intersections. Verify driveway is 10’ from side property lines. Verify driveway alignment is within 20° of perpendicular for the first 20’. Check the stabilized construction entrance, verify it has filter fabric (12’x50’) and 4” of 1” to 2 ½” coarse, clean aggregate gravel. Check that erosion control measures are installed correctly. (Silt fence or straw wattle; refer to specs on reverse side). Verify concrete washout, dumpster, storage, parking and toilet locations. Verify need for a swale or culvert (12” minimum). Verify all property corners are set and marked with a fence post. Pre-Surface Inspection: (Required Inspection) Verify driveway is 50’ from all intersections. Verify driveway is 10’ from side property lines. Verify driveway alignment is within 20° of perpendicular for the first 20’. Verify that the centerline grade of the driveway matches the approved site plan (driveway must be at sub- grade to get correct measurements). Average 10% or less, no section over 12% allowed. Verify installation of swale or culvert (if required 12” minimum). Verify driveway width is less than 25% of frontage and greater than the 12-foot minimum. Final Inspection: (Required Inspection) Verify driveway is 50’ from all intersections. Verify driveway is 10’ from side property lines. Verify driveway alignment is within 20° of perpendicular for the first 20’. Verify that the centerline grade of the driveway matches the approved site plan. Verify installation of swale or culvert (if required 12” minimum). Verify installation and maintenance of erosion control measures. Verify finished slopes max grade 2:1, all 3:1 and steeper slopes have erosion control blankets. Verify driveway width is less than 25% of frontage and greater than the 12-foot minimum. Bond Release Inspections: Revegetation bond can be released once the disturbed ground has reached final stabilization (70% of disturbed area covered or re-vegetated).
