Star City Council Special Meeting Minutes July 5, 2011 A special meeting of the Star City Council was held on July 5, 2011 at the Star City Hall. Mayor Nathan Mitchell called the meeting to order at 4:04 pm. Roll Call: Council persons Gary Smith, Tom Erlebach and Chad Bell were present. Councilwoman Tammy McDaniel was absent. Approval of Hunter’s Creek Contract: Mayor Mitchell explained the contents of the contract. The City is contracting for bid “Schedule A” and unit pricing for top soil. Work includes putting in turf and trees, parking lot with lighting, soccer and baseball fields (does not include baseball backstops). Mayor Mitchell discussed several options he will be presenting at his upcoming meeting with ACHD in which they are requiring the City to improve the small triangle of land east of the canal and requiring a bridge to be put across the canal. A discussion was held as to who would be the City’s general contractor for this project. The Mayor explained Keller Associates would be general contractor and the City already has a contract with them. Bell moved to approve the contract for the Hunters Creek Sports Complex with C & A Paving; contract amount $442,500.00, Smith seconded the motion. All ayes: motion carried.
