Page 1 of 1 Decision to Extend Site Plan Review and Municipal or Religious Reuse Special Permit 5 Broad Street (Map 25, Lot 0546) May 6, 2024 Charing Cross Realty Trust 2 Centennial Drive, 5E Peabody, MA 01960 RE: 5 Broad Street (Map 25, Lot 0546) Extension of Site Plan Review and Municipal or Religious Reuse Special Permit On Thursday, April 18, 2024, the Planning Board of the City of Salem met to discuss your request for the approval of a one year extension to commence construction authorized by the Site Plan Review and Municipal or Religious Reuse Special Permit Decision for 5 Broad Street, originally dated July 8, 2022. A letter submitted by William and Kemith Luster, on behalf of Charing Cross Realty Trust, date- stamped April 11, 2024, requests approval to extend the permits granted by the Planning Board. The petitioners state that additional time is necessary in order to obtain state funding through the Housing Development Incentive Program. The action required is expected to be completed within the requested extension period. The Planning Board voted eight (Chair Bill Griset, Kirt Reider, Helen Sides, Tom Furey, Sarah Tarbet, Jonathan Berk, Carole Hamilton, and Josh Turiel) in favor, and zero opposed to approve a request to extend the Site Plan Review and Municipal or Religious Reuse Special Permit Decision originally dated July 8, 2022, for one year to July 8, 2025, with no conditions.
