Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services July 2021 Welcome Back! The staff of the Jean A. Levesque Community Life Center is thrilled to have our seniors back for lunch, playing pool, reading in the library, working out in the fitness room and participating in classes. It is great seeing so many friends again! Thanks to funding from the City of Salem Department of Planning and Community Development and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, we are happy to be offering several free programs this summer for Salem youth. These week long programs include: Girls Lacrosse Clinic, Boys Lacrosse Clinic, Children’s Art Workshop, Hip Hop Dance, Yoga and Meditation and a Volleyball Clinic. Visit salemrec.com for complete information. We are pleased to be partnering with Coast to Coast Paddle again this summer to offer Kids Paddle, Teen Paddle and Teen Kayak Adventure. These are incredible programs and enjoyed by all! Group games at the Salem Council on Aging will be starting back up in July at the Community Center. We are always looking for new players! Friday, August 20th 7:00pm More details to follow Summer Playground Program We are excited to offer a free, 3 hour summer playground program for ages 6– 12 from 9:00am –12:00pm, Monday— Friday. Each week, instructors will be at three different playgrounds within Salem to offer traditional crafts, games and activities. Having staff travel to different playgrounds each week allows us to provide this service throughout our community. This is not a drop in program. Pre-registration is required at salemrec.com Paint and Sip Join us on the deck of beautiful Olde Salem Greens Golf Course for a Paint and Sip. Local artist, Linda Abbene will be guiding us in creating this painting. The Tee Time Grill will be open for your drinking and dinning pleasure. Monday, July 19th 5:30-7:30pm $35.00. per person , includes all supplies. Register at salmerec.com Line Dancing Line Dancing will be returning to the Salem Council on Aging beginning Thursday, July 22nd at 10:00am. The cost is $5.00 per class. Please contact Rosanna at 978 -744-0924 to register. Adult Pickleball Lessons We are pleased to be offering both Wednesday morning and Tuesday evening Pickleball lessons for adults.
