Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services May 2024 Saturday Morning Art Classes Join local artist, Linda Abbene this spring for a Saturday morning art class at Mack Park. Children will be working on sketching, and watercolor painting ob- serving the natural landscape and photographs to recreate subject matter. This class is free for Sa- lem children with funding from the City of Salem Department of Planning and Community Development and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Ages: 8-12 Saturday, May 25th or Saturday, June 1st 10:00-11:30am Register at salemma.myrec.com Seascape Coasters Workshop Salem resin artist Julie Gordon will be leading an immersive hands-on workshop for adults 18+. Participants will craft a set of four coastal-inspired coasters using ceramic tiles, resin, vibrant colorants and beach sand. Unleash your creativity and leave with a set of beautiful crafted coasters that make unique gifts or elegant additions to your own space. The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7th from 7:00- 8:00pm at the VFW, 95 Derby St. $45.00 per person; includes all supplies. Mother’s Day Lunch at the Council on Aging The Friends of the Salem Council on Aging are sponsoring our annual Mother’s Day Lunch on Tuesday, May 7th at 10:00am. Intermediate Pickleball Class This 5 week class will focus on mastering the skills and shots to bring players to a higher level of play. Instruction by Sue Carnevale.
