Mother’s Day Celebration at the Council on Aging Wednesday, May 9th 10:30am-1:00pm We will celebrate all the women who mean so much to all of us! The event is being sponsored by the Salem Rotary Club. You must pre register with Rosanna Tony teaching Backgammon to some of our members Salem Park and Recreation is offering two new programs this spring at the Palmer Cove Park. Both these programs are being funded by The City of Salem Department of Planning and Community Development and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Saturday Morning Painting Class ~ ages 8-14 Saturday, June 9th 9:30am –12:00pm Saturday Morning Basketball ~ ages 8-17 Saturdays, May 19th, 26th, June 2nd, June 9th and June 16th 10:00am –12:00pm Visit www.salem rec.com for additional information and to register. The Art Adventure Class is back! Mondays, May 7th and 21st Class begins at 1:00pm Register with Rosanna There is no charge for this class. It is being funded by the City of Salem Department of Planning and Community Development and the U.S. Department of Urban Development. Look at the fancy shoes participants made at the last class! Thanks to the House of The Seven Gables for hosting “Let Your Yoga Dance with Dale” on Saturday, May 12th. The class will be held on the back lawn from 9:00-10:00am. A beautiful spot for a morning exercise class. Register at www.salemrec.com Spring Tennis Lessons Lessons for youth and adult begin on Tuesdays, June 5th at Salem High School. The Spring Session, instructed by Barbara Maitland, is 4 weeks long. The cost of the session is $40.00. Check out our website for a complete list of class times. What fun the kids had learning out to cook Italian at the recent Kids Can Cook class. They made meat- balls, sauce, garlic bread and tiramisu.
