Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services December 2022 Santa at the Common Santa will be visiting the Salem Common Gazebo on Saturday, December 10th from 9:00am – 12:00pm. This event will give families the opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa and pre-bagged treats will be available for the kids. Pre-registration is encouraged at salemma.myrec.com. When registering, you can pick the time of morning that is best for you to visit. Holiday Bow Making Participants will learn to create 2-3 holiday bows suitable for embellishing gifts, wreaths and other holiday items. This class will be lead by local craft instructor Christina Bash and is for adults aged 18+. Holiday Light Ride The Salem Council on Aging will be offering our annual Holiday Light Ride on Monday, December 12th at 4:30pm. Friday, December 16th 5:00-8:00pm $10.00 per person A Night of Holiday Cheer Join local artist Linda Abbene for a fun evening of holiday cheer! Decorate personalized glass or wooden ornaments using glitter, paint, decoupage and stencils. Thread with ribbon to hang and enjoy your beautiful creation for seasons to come or gift to someone special. This program is for adults aged 18+. Holiday Party at the Council on Aging Seniors are invited to our Annual Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 14th at 10:30am at the Community Life Center. Live music, dancing and lunch. Pre-registration is required. Please call Rosanna at 978–744-0924 to reserve a spot. Winter Gnome Making Workshop Children ages 6-10 are invited to this exciting new workshop during school vacation. Instructor Christina Bash will lead children in step by step instructions to create a Winter Gnome out of a sock, rice, beads and yarn. Wednesday, December 28th 3:00-4:00pm Community Life Center $25.00 per person, includes all supplies Register at salemma.myrec.com Edwardian Holiday Tea Seniors are cordially invited to enjoy some holiday cheer as you are transported back to 1908. Take a moment from the holiday stress as Mrs. Gordan, the hostess, shares stories about holiday shopping and traditions. Hats, gloves and Victorian garb encouraged, but not necessary. Gingerbread House Event Come partake in our Gingerbread House Decoration Event to kick off the holiday season. Come as a family and decorate your very own pre-made gingerbread house using icing, candy and other festive decorations. Children must have a parent accompany them during this program.
