Regulation no.19 (refer to title 5 in State Sanitary Code) All cesspools, septic tanks and/or other private sewerage systems, within the City of Salem, shall be installed, only, with the approval and under the direction of the Board of Health. (About 1954) Legal Notices- Board of Health Regulations Section 2 “Disposal Works Installer’s Permit” No person or firm shall engage in the construction, alteration, installation or repair of any individual sewerage disposal system with first obtaining a Disposal Works Installer’s Permit from the Board of Health. The fee for this permit shall be $10.00. Section 3 “Application for Sewerage Disposal Construction Permit” NO private sewerage system may be installed without a proper application for same having been filed with and approved by the Board of Health. The fee for this permit shall be $10.00.
