FINAL PUBLIC NOTICE Pursuant to Executive Order 11988 (Floodplain Management) and Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) implementing regulations at Title 44 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 9, FEMA hereby provides final notice of its decision to provide Emergency Management Grant Program funding for an action located in a Special Flood Hazard Area. Funding would be provided to the Salem Fire Department in Salem, MA. The proposed action includes the construction of chain link fence along the sides of the existing parking lot and grasses area to help delineate the property line around the parcel and help restrict access to the property. The project must be in the floodplain to service the Fire Department’s property. The ‘No Action’ option was not found to be the most practicable alternative as the building needs to meet its security goals. Grant conditions will also require compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including with the local floodplain administrator.
