June 28, 2023 RE: Deduct Water Meter Installation and Maintenance To whom it may concern: This letter is to inform you that our records indicate there is a deduct meter associated with your property. When working properly, a deduct meter will measure the amount of water used for recreational or irrigation purposes; the water is not subject to sewer charges. However, if the deduct meter isn’t working properly then sewer is automatically charged. If you see a under the “Read Code” column on your water/sewer bill, please call the Water Department at [PHONE REDACTED]. A code means the deduct meter is not working properly and the water used is subject to sewer charges. To begin to resolve the issue, you should call the water department. II Div. If maintenance of the deduct meter or associated backflow prevention device is needed, you can contact a plumber to make repairs or replacements. You may also contact the Water Billing Department at [PHONE REDACTED] to schedule an inspection and necessary maintenance or replacement of the deduct water meter. The city does not inspect, maintain or replace backflow prevention devices.
