Santa at the Common Santa will be visiting the Salem Common Gazebo on Saturday, December 7th. This event will give families the opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa. Holiday Card Workshop Design your very own holiday gift tags and greeting cards using watercolors freehand or with the assistance of stencils. Enjoy a creative and festive night out at the Winter Island Function Hall to kick off your holiday season. Ages 18+. Tuesday, December 3rd 5:30-7:30pm $25.00 per person, includes all supplies. Register at salemma.myrec.com Holiday Seascape Window Workshop In this workshop, you will design a unique, holiday themed 8x10 seascape window using sea glass, shells, starfish, and other coastal treasures. Once the design is complete, you will seal it with resin to create a beautiful last- ing piece of art. This class is for adults, 18+. Teens are welcome if attending with a parent. Afterschool Crafts with Lane Children ages 5-9 are invited to join Lane, one of our summer playground craft expert for an aftershool craft program. Mondays, 3:30-4:30pm $65.00 for the 6 week session or $15.00 weekly. Register at salemrec.com Positive Aging Group—Wednesday, December 11th Come one, come all, to a discussion group on Positive Aging! This is for all ages, because every one of us is aging every day. We will look together at how we think of this process affects our own health and longevity. This group meets on the second Wednesday of the month, from 2 pm until 4 pm at latest. No registration needed! Linocut Printmaking Workshop—Ages 18+ In this class, participants will be introduced to the printmaking process of Linocut. The class will cover the techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing and printing. You will learn how to ink and print linoleum blocks by hand. Monday, December 16th 6:00-8:00pm $75.00 includes all supplies. Register at salemma.myrec.com Intro to Chess This program will teach children ages 7-14 the basics of chess, the rules of chess, and give an understanding of how each piece moves. Participants will learn different strategies and then have the opportunity to play against one another. Thursdays, December 5th— December 26th 4:00-5:00pm $25.00 for the four week session. Cardio Boxing and Kickboxing - Ages 16+ Build the foundations of kickboxing with a circuit style workout that will improve balance and coordination. You will burn calories, build muscle and relieve stress in a fun, safe and healthy way. Tuesdays, December 3rd—January 7th 5:30-6:15 $70.00 for the 4 week session or $20.00 per night.
