Father’s Day Lunch at the COA Friday, June 16th 10:30 am Join us at Winter Island for live entertainment by Tony Malionek and Mamadou and lunch sponsored by the Friend of the Salem Council on Aging. Tickets are $5.00. Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services is pleased to be partnering with SATV to offer Youth Video Boot Camp. Under the direction of SATV producer, Patrick Kennedy, children ages 8-14 have the opportunity to learn about film producing. Class is limited to 10 participants. Register at salemrec.com Pretty Pots A special COA Saturday class. Bring your imagination and creativity and we will turn flower pots into a work of art. Lunch and transportation provided. Live entertainment and the “Traveling Chef” will be preparing lunch. Friday, June 30th 10:30 am Suggested donation $2.25 Register with Rosanna Playground Programs Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services will be staffing the Mary Jane Lee and Furlong Playgrounds again this summer. We will be on site from July 5th—August 18th . Daily hours are 9:00am—12:00pm and 1:00pm—4:00pm. Staff will be providing a variety of supervised activities. This is a free drop in program. New 6 week sessions of adult fitness classes begin on: Let Your Yoga Dance ~ June 1st Beginner Barre ~ June 6th Yoga for Strength and Flexibility ~ June 13th Register for the session or drop in on a weekly basis. Beth Kapnis Livermore will be back conducting the clinic for us again this year. The clinic is for girls ages 9-15, and will take place the week of July 17th. Memory Café A Memory Café is a welcoming place for people and their families with forgetfulness or other changes in their thinking to get together. The Salem Council on Aging will be hosting a Café on Thursday, June 15th at 1:30pm. Included in this gathering will be a presentation on yoga and meditation practices to address memory challenges. Derby St. Mile Road Race Friday, August 25th 7:00pm Competitive Race 7:15 pm Family Fun Race Salem Willows Fishing Clinic Saturday, June 10, 2017 Sponsored by the Division of Ma- rine Fisheries. Youth ages 7-15 are welcome to participate. Space is limited and you must register through the Division of Marine Fisheries. Registration forms can be downloaded from their site. Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services is partnering with Jape Scape Productions to offer a Summer Drama Workshop for children grades K—5. This workshop will be held Monday—Friday, July 24th—28th from 10:00 am—12:00pm. The location of the class is the Winter Island Function Hall. Cost is $75.00 per person.
