Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services December 2020 Santa in the Park Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services Santa event will look a little different this year. In accordance with the COVID guidelines, we will be cancelling our traditional Breakfast with Santa, but hope that you will enjoy our new event! Santa in the Park will give families the opportunity to have a picture with Santa. Santa will be in the Common Gazebo and families can pose on the steps below for a picture. A pre-bagged treat will be available for the kids. Santa will have a mailbox on site so children can drop their letters to Santa. Pre-registration is a must. No drop in guests will be allowed. Registration is available at salemrec.com. Face coverings mandatory for all. We had our last Pop Up Farmers Market on November 10th. We want to thank all the volunteers who came each week to help Kelly out with the distribution. We are looking forward to next year! According to Dot, her key for staying so healthy is volunteering at the COA! Council on Aging Zoom Classes We are happy to be offering a few of our fitness classes through Zoom for the month of December. Zumba—Mondays 1:00-2:00pm Muscle & Strength—Wednesdays 2:00-3:00pm Please contact Rosanna if you are interested and the registration link will be sent to you. A special thank you to all who assisted in providing 300 Thanksgiving meals to our seniors this year. Thanks to Rosanna , Manny Cruz and Brother’s Taverna for organizing the event. Thanks to the Friends of the Council On Aging, Salem City Councillors and the many other private donations that sponsored the meals. Thanks to the numerous volunteers who delivered the meals on Thanksgiving morning. Salem Council on Aging Holiday Drive Thru Wednesday, December 16th 11:00am A special event is in store for our seniors! Drive through our parking lot, pick up a boxed lunch, special treats, enjoy some road side music and a visit from a very special guest. Reservations are required for this event. Pop– Up Street Hockey Tuesday, December 10th Collins Cove Rink Ages: 8-14 Pre-registration is required at salemrec.com Group size is limited to 10 so sign up early! We are currently offering a few in-person classes at the Community Life Center. Group size is limited to 15 participants and pre-registration is required. No drop-ins will be allowed. We are following all public health guidelines to include social distancing, mandatory face coverings, daily health checks.
