Dear Applicant: Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Redmond Police Department. Volunteers contribute more than just their time; they bring life experiences, new ideas, fresh perspective, and shared enthusiasm. If you meet the minimum qualifications, please complete and return the application by mail to the address shown on the application. Because a law enforcement agency deals with highly sensitive and confidential information and is held to the highest standards of trust and accountability by the public, we take great care before accepting any candidate to work here, including volunteers. Our complete application and screening process takes several weeks and includes a series of interviews, reference checks, an extensive background investigation, and polygraph examination. All materials pertaining to your selection as a volunteer will be retained by the City of Redmond Police Department and will be kept according to the state of Washington retention requirements. In general, we ask volunteers to commit to working a minimum of 8 hours per month for a minimum of one year. The program has quarterly meetings held on the second Wednesday of each quarter (Jan, April, July, and Oct.) from 6:00-7:30p.m. Our volunteers work in a wide variety of assignments depending upon their interests, skills and availability. Once I review your completed application, I’ll contact you to schedule an initial interview. If you have any questions regarding our application requirements or procedures, please feel free to call me at (425) 556-2632. I look forward to receiving your application. Sincerely, Nicole Rogers Redmond Police Department Police Program Coordinator [EMAIL REDACTED]
