Historic Core Plan Schedule and Summary The Historic Core Plan is comprised of policies and regulations that will guide new development within the City’s first business district and historic portion of the Downtown. The Historic Core Plan was recommended to the Planning Commission in June through August 2015. Staff received significant feedback on the recommendations and since then, has been working on the comments, researching alternatives and clarifying language. The refined amendments have been organized into three packages and the Planning Commission is currently review- ing the first of the three and will hold the first public hearing on April 27. Subsequent hearing dates will be scheduled. Three Historic Core packages: Package 1—April: Comprehensive Plan Policies & Vision, Small Lot Residential Density Limit, and Exterior Building Material Package 2—June: On-Site Parking Requirements, Alternative Design Review Processes, and Building Cap and Corners Package 3—August & September: Gilman Street & Leary Way Streetscape, Height, Mass, Stepbacks, Encroachments, Building Base, Pedestrian Connections, Streetscape Elements, Signage, and Fronting on Parks Your input is important.
