Light rail will travel along SR 520 with stations in southeast Redmond near Marymoor Park and in downtown Redmond. This project is part of the voter-approved Sound Transit system expansion to add 94 more miles of light rail throughout the region. Project benefits 3.4 miles of new light rail with two new stations. 1400 parking stalls in southeast Redmond. Fast and reliable service with four-car trains every eight minutes during peak hours. Direct service to Overlake, Bellevue, Mercer Island, downtown Seattle, the University of Washington, Northgate and What’s happening In August 2018, Sound Transit updated the project’s environmental review with a State Environmental Policy Act addendum (see soundtransit.org/redmondlink). Sound Transit is coordinating with local jurisdictions to develop station designs that facilitate access by foot, bike, car or bus and that can spur nearby transit-oriented development.
