Welcome to the Redmond Police Explorers: Explorer Post #2913 Thank you for your interest in the Redmond Police Explorers! The information below should answer any questions about how to apply to the Post. You are welcome to attend meetings throughout the entire process to help determine if this is the right Post for you. We will also use this opportunity to determine if you are right for our Post. We meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month, from 7pm to 9pm, at the Redmond Police Department. Post Requirements: • At least 14 years old and not more than 20 at time of application. • Minimum GPA of 2.0 • Able to commit to 8 hours of service a month • Able to pass a background and reference check • Pay $50 joining fee at time of acceptance to Post [can be waived if needed] Application Procedure: 1. Complete a Written Application a. Incomplete application and electronic versions not accepted. 2. Pass Background and Reference Check 3. Complete and Pass Oral Interview a. Interview conducted by at least 2 members of Post selected by Advisor; lasts about 25-30 minutes. 4. Application will be Accepted or Declined 5. New Explorers will be sworn-in and issued equipment and uniform. 6. New Explorers will be initially placed on probationary status. Your application to the Post can be declined at any step. We are a selective group and take pride in who we allow to wear a Redmond Uniform. You will be evaluated on your capabilities, attitude, professionalism, and how you work with current members of the Post.
