MEDICARE SHIBA CONSULTING SESSIONS Second Thursday, September 8 & October 13 9:00 - 11:30 AM Facilitator: Cho Shimizu, SHIBA Volunteer It’s time to get your ducks in a row and learn the ins and outs of what Medicare has to offer you! Cho Shimizu will be here at the Puyallup Activity Center to offer advice to seniors on issues ranging from health and prescription insurance rights and options to understanding a bill from your doctor. FLU SHOTS Monday, September 12 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Representatives from Rite Aid will be at the Activity Center to provide “free” flu shots for those seniors who have Medicare Part B. Remember, you are required to present your Medicare card at the time you receive your flu shot. Seniors who do not carry Medicare Part B will be charged $30.00 (or less). Pneumonia shots will be available for $46.00. WASHINGTON STATE CATTLE DRIVE AND WESTERN RODEO PARADE KICK-OFF TO THE FAIR Friday, September 9 10:00 AM The Washington State Fair needs volunteers to help with the annual Cattle Drive and Western Rodeo Parade. Volunteers are needed to help line the streets of downtown Puyallup with colored flags. By holding the flags, you will keep the parents and children off the street during the parade. The parade lasts approximately one hour. You will need to contact Trudi at 841-5548 if you are interested in volunteering. If you would like to see award-winning quilters, stop by and take a gander. This class is for all levels of quilters. Material donations (cotton, flannel or fleece AND batting) are greatly appreciated. Quilts are made from generous contributions and donated to various charities. Quilts made in the class are donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and Madigan Hospital. The larger quilts, along with pillow cases and pillows, are donated to abused women and children of the YMCA. REBUILDERS FOR WIDOWS, WIDOWERS & DIVORCED SENIORS Sundays 4:30 - 8:00 PM Join us at Rebuilders! Mainly, we are a group of widows, widowers and divorced seniors. If you have lost your spouse or are divorced, then this is the support group for you! It’s a wonderful way to meet new people.
