SUBMITTAL CHECKLIST High Pile Storage Racking Commercial Tenant Improvement Remodel The permit type is Commercial - Tenant Improvement Remodel. The Work Type Is High Piled Storage Racking is to be used for High Pile Racks and storage over 8 feet. Please contact the Permit Center at (253) 864-4165 op)on 1. This completed check list must be submi*ed with the completed applica)on form. The following is a checklist of necessary items to apply for a permit: • Applica&on Form- BUILDING PERMIT • Construc&on Plan Set • High Pile Storage/Racking Submi+al Documents (Complete HMIS for any combus)ble storage) • Structural Calcula&ons. See detailed list on next page. This brochure is a summary of permit standards. If you have any ques)ons, please contact Permit Center at (253) 864-4165 Plans and construc)on must comply with the applicable state building code and standards. Special inspec)on is required during the anchorage of storage racks or as required by the engineer of record (IBC 1707.7). All special inspec)on shall be a WABO special inspec)on agency or otherwise reviewed in accordance with the IBC by the Building Department prior to permit issuance. ---PAGE BREAK--- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION PLANS Submi*ed plans and documenta)on must contain adequate informa)on and be sufficiently detailed so that code compliance can be verified, and your drawings approved. To prevent avoidable delays, the City of Puyallup requests that you adhere to our guidelines and provide all the following informa)on. Acceptable drawing sizes are 24” x 36”, or 30” x 42”; Scale minimum is 1/8” = NOTE: This list may not address all project or site condi)ons. This applica)on checklist is the Submi*al Checklist and may not provide direc)on for all circumstances of code or applicable standards. Please check for code versions; code adop)on changes and form used by the State and other Jurisdic)onal authori)es change. Washington State law requires that any registered professional who prepares or supervises the prepara&on of drawings and construc&on documents stamp and sign such documents. • Applica&on Form- Building Permit – Please complete the applica)on. • Construc&on Plan Set Engineering seals are required on the construc)on plan set. The engineering must provide the special inspec)on program in accordance with the building codes. Plans shall detail rack loca)ons; height and length of each rack; width of aisles; ceiling/roof height; column type, size, dimension from column to rack, loca)on of exits. Provide plan view and eleva)ons of racks. Floor plans detailing rack loca)ons, aisle width, exits. Ligh)ng of aisles is required for loading of racks by inspec)on. If smoke vents are in the building area that the racks are placed, you will need to provide a smoke/vent layout. Load placard details to comply with Rack Manufactures Ins)tute requirements. Provide sample and notes on the plans. • High Pile Storage/Racking Submi+al Documents. Complete the HMIS - owner’s statement of intended use for storage quan)ty and material. Provide automa)c fire sprinkler system informa)on. • Structural Calcula&ons. Provide calcula)on stamped by a Washington State licensed professional engineer. Steel storage racks may be designed per IBC 2208 (all others per IBC Chapter 16).
