Our Mission Statement: The goal of the GIS User’s Committee is to assist our members in the application of GIS technology in the performance of their duties, by providing a forum for communication and education. Jennifer: working with Rachael to update the schema and combination of Planned Developments and CUP, AA, V geodatabases. Will be updating data and sending to Trisha in February. 2. Heidi: will be working on a map of a scene at the riverbank 3. Jon G: IDDE (illicit discharge detection and elimination) map update 4. Linda: latecomer agreements 5. Raelin: food truck pilot program map – permitted streets for food vending 6. Ryan: Deer Creek restoration project map 7. Bryana: updated the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) map – projects are now color coded on the map, consistent with the TIP list. 8. Josh: updated the sanitary sewer and stormwater data, online maps and map books 9. Kendall: working with Raelin on maps for the Freeman Road Annexation 10. Jon W: standardized field names in the IDDE data to assist in data tracking/reporting to the Dept. of Ecology as required for the city’s NPDES stormwater permit REPORTS 1. GIS COORDINATOR REPORT: a) April 3, 2020, it’s official! b) The plan remains to get a new GIS Coordinator hired prior to Jennifer retiring. c) Nate and Jennifer continue to work with Vestra for the City’s ESRI Enterprise Agreement (EA) implementation. May 19, 2005 d) After EA implementation, Cartegraph will step in for integration of GIS to its functionality. e) IT and the EOC will be receiving new plotters within the next 30 or so days. f) Will be sending one more batch of geodatabases to PC-GIS for data updates. This is scheduled for mid/late February. g) EOC-GIS team is growing. Welcome Ryan R, Jon W, and Josh G. We now have enough to make three 2-man teams. This was accomplished with the understanding the Jon and Josh will be the last team to be called. This understanding is subject to change depending upon the type of emergency requiring EOC activation. h) An EOC-GIS work station training has been scheduled for March 16th at 10AM. This is for new team members as well as those that continue to support the EOC in this capacity. i) For those of you eyeing Jennifer’s plants, she will have plant starts available for people to take (first come first serve) during her last week here (March 31-April 3rd). 2. PIERCE COUNTY REPORT: a) Spatial Services Newsletter was sent out today; some highlights: i. All orthophotos have been cached to improve speed. ii. New roads have also been cached. iii. 2-foot contours data will now be available for the public to download. iv. Orthophotos will be flown this year in early Summer; Lidar will also be done this Spring. v. CVPro advanced training classes were offered last year and were well attended. Please check out the survey linked in the newsletter for a survey on training topics. vi. ESRI User Conference 2020 will be held in San Diego. The City has three passes to the conference, and Pierce County has two additional passes available. If you or someone in your department is interested in attending the conference, first contact Jennifer regarding the city’s passes. If no city passes are available and you and have received the appropriate approval, please contact Trisha James. Departments are responsible for all workshop, travel, and accommodation costs but the admission cost is covered. Note: Pierce County receives all the presentations from the conference, and they are (and new presentations will be) available on the shared workspace drive. OLD BUSINESS 1. The Shoreline Master Program Environments and Downtown Planned Action Area have been added to Puyallup QV. May 19, 2005 1. The committee needs someone to create the April Agenda if a GIS Coordinator is not in place; this is a temporary volunteer request. Ryan Rutkosky volunteered to assist Jennifer in preparing the agenda. TECHNICAL SESSION – None GOOD OF THE ORDER 1. In Jennifer’s words, “it’s been a pleasure”. Make sure you stop in to Jennifer’s office to wish her well in retirement! Her last day is April 3rd.
