Walk-In Puyallup Activity Center 210 West Pioneer Puyallup, WA 98371 Inclement Weather The Puyallup Activity Center will be open during inclement weather (i.e. heavy snow, ice, rain, wind) with the exception of the City’s instruction to close. However, trips, classes, and other programs may be cancelled due to the weather conditions. Please call the Center before you attempt to come in. We do not encourage anyone to drive, much less walk, to the Center if the roads and sidewalks are unsafe. As a general rule of thumb, if the Puyallup School District has cancelled school, we strongly advise all of our seniors to stay home. Rent the Puyallup Activity Center The Puyallup Activity Center is a 12,000 square foot facility located in the heart of downtown Puyallup. The facility has a multi-purpose room, which can seat 100 guests, classrooms, and a commercial grade kitchen. The Activity Center can accommodate a wide variety of events including weddings, receptions, meetings, conference, and other special occasions (limited availability during Activity Center open hours). PROGRAM FUN WITH FITNESS Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 – 9:00 AM Fee: $3.00 Instructor: Sandy Gatlin Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) is a strength, balance and fitness program for adults 65 and older. Performing exercises that improve strength, balance and fitness are the single most important activity that adults can do to stay active and reduce their chances of falling. The entire curriculum of activities in the SAIL Program can help improve strength and balance, if done regularly. SAIL exercise can be done standing or sitting down. Each class meets for one hour. It works...Increase your energy, be stronger, feel more confident, improve your walking, improve flexibility, improve your strength, decrease your risk of falling, maintain a healthy weight, sleep better and improve your self-image. It’s safe...Classes are conducted by fitness, exercise and healthcare professionals who have completed SAIL Program Leader training. Leaders work with participants to help achieve the best results from the fitness class. It’s fun...Exercises are done to music and you will enjoy new friendships with the other people you meet! The Food Bank is in dire need of toilet paper, soap (full size), diapers, baby wipes, laundry soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, feminine products, pet food (mainly cat food) and razors. They also need peanut butter, jelly, breakfast cereal, applesauce, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, Hamburger Helper, boxed side dishes (Rice-a- Roni, Pasta-Roni), kid-friendly food (Easy Mac, Spaghetti-o’s), canned meat (chicken, tuna fish, ham), baby food, canned vegetables, soup, pasta, mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup. Please be generous and donate what you can!
