FROM: Park County Environmental Health Department Due to static hydrology, frozen soil horizons and excessive snow pack the following limits will be set as Policy by PCEHD when accepting applications and/or engineering proposals at the office level. Between October15th, and June 15th, septic systems in areas above 9500 ft. altitude, will be limited to very site-specific designs listed below. • Full 4 ft sand filter Mound design • An observation port set 10` to 15` uphill of the field will be required. • Interceptor drains must be detailed in the submitted plans and engineered to daylight. • Curtain drains on slopes of > 20% may be required • Extreme winter conditions will halt permitting process and construction of any septic system, until spring. • Wetland Delinetions delayed until spring.
