FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: May 10, 2018 African American Authors Book Club to Discuss Children of Blood and Bone PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library will host the next meeting of the African-American Authors Book Club to discuss the novel Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi on Tuesday, May 15 at 6:45 pm. Children of Blood and Bone is the first book in a planned trilogy titled Legacy of Orïsha. It’s a fantasy novel set in an allegorical world built by Adeyemi that is designed to resonate with our own. The book’s protagonist, Zélie, fights against the odds, herself, and a monarchy who has ruthlessly killed the land’s maji as well as Zélie’s mother. With the aid of a rogue princess, Zélie attempts to restore magic without becoming a victim to the king or herself. The African American Authors Book Club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 6:45 pm. New members are welcome to attend. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
