PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF PALMDALE NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES DEPARTMENT HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM (HOME) PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING NEW ACTIVITY AND REPROGRAMMING OF FUNDS FROM THE 2013/2014 AND PRIOR YEAR ACTION PLANS In accordance with the City’s Citizen Participation Plan and the requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, this notice is to invite public comment and review of the City of Palmdale’s proposal before the City Council on June 4, 2014 to amend the 2013/2014 and Prior Year Action Plans for the purpose of reallocating HOME funds to the following new activity: Multi-family Residential Acquisition and Rehabilitation provides funding to acquire, rehabilitate and rent a 1-4 unit property. The activity will be carried out by the City and a housing developer. The rehabilitation component will include remediation of health and safety violations and bringing the properties up to standard. HOME funds will be used for eligible costs including but not limited to acquisition, rehabilitation and project management. This activity is eligible for HOME funds pursuant to 24 CFR 92.205(a)(1). Subsequent to public comment and review, the action, if approved by City Council, will cancel two prior year activities and reduce funding previously allocated to one prior year activity in order to reprogram funds to one new activity as follows: From: 2013-2014 Multi-family Rehabilitation (to be reduced) 129,987) 2012-2013 Multi-family Rehabilitation (to be canceled) 268,130) 2011-2012 Multi-family Rehabilitation (to be canceled) 81,883) Total 480,000) To: 2013-2014 Multi-family Residential Acquisition and Rehabilitation $ 480,000 Individuals wishing to express their views concerning the above proposed activities may do so during the public review and comment period beginning on Monday, May 5, 2014 and concluding on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 with a public hearing 7:00 p.m. before the City Council at City Council Chambers, 38300 N. Sierra Hwy, Suite B. Written comments may be submitted during the public review and comment period to the City of Palmdale, Neighborhood Services Department, 38250 N. Sierra Hwy, Palmdale, CA 93550 no later than June 4, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. This notice is prepared in compliance with the City’s approved Citizen Participation Plan and Implementing Regulation 24 CFR 91.105.
