FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: August 31, 2017 Palmdale City Library to Join Inland Library Network PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library will join the Inland Library Network this fall, a move which will provide its customers access to more items at more locations. The Inland Library Network is a consortium of libraries consisting of Riverside County, Moorpark, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Santa Clarita, Simi Valley and Upland. Once the Palmdale City Library is fully integrated into the system, Palmdale customers will be able to use their library cards at the other Inland Library Network libraries. To prepare for the transition, the Palmdale City Library will be offline from the close of day on Sunday, Sept. 17, with the expectation of being back online Friday, Sept. 22. During the offline period, some services will be unavailable, including checking account status, renewing items, replacing library cards, changing library card PIN, paying fines, checking out digital holds, and placing or picking up holds. However, the Library will be open, as usual, for general use and regularly scheduled programs during those dates. “This move will provide our customers with so many more resources,” said Library Director Robert Shupe. “It’s a little bit of inconvenience now for a lot more convenience later. We’re working diligently to ensure a quick and smooth transition period, and if anyone needs assistance during that time, our staff will be glad to help.” ---PAGE BREAK--- The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
