Palmdale Blvd. The County Girls is the story of Kate and Baba are two young Irish country girls who have spent their childhood together. As they leave the safety of their convent school in search of life and love in the big city, they struggle to maintain their somewhat tumultuous relationship. “Do you have a passion for the classics?” asked Assistant Director Debbie Petersen, “Join us July 24 to discuss The Country Girls, Edna O’Brien’s classic novel about two young Irish girls trying to find their way in the world.” The Classics Book Club meets on the fourth Monday of every month from 7 to 8 pm. New members are welcome to attend. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
