FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: January 11, 2017 Murder, Mystery and Mayhem on Tap at Palmdale city Library PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library’s Mystery Book Discussion Group “Mystery, Murder and Mayhem” will discuss the book The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware on Wednesday, January 17, at 7 pm, at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway. In this wound, enthralling story, Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first, the stay is pleasant: the cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, gray skies fall, and Lo witnesses a dark and terrifying nightmare: a woman being thrown overboard. The problem? All passengers remain accounted for—and so, the ship sails on as if nothing has happened, despite Lo’s desperate attempts to convey that something---or someone---has gone terribly, terribly wrong. The Mystery, Murder and Mayhem Mystery Book Discussion Group meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 pm at the Chimbole Cultural Center. The group is open to anyone who enjoys a good mystery. The discussion also provides disabled access with 72 hours’ notice. To request special aids for the disabled or for more information, please call the Palmdale City Library at 267-5600 or TDD 267-5167. -30- Communications Department • 38300 Sierra Highway • Palmdale, CA 93550 www.CityofPalmdale.org
