Towed Vehicle Release Information A $93 Tow Release Fee can be paid at the following locations: You must present one of the documents from each column to release the vehicle. Both the registered owner address and the vehicle registration address must match. If the owner’s permanent residence is not in California, the owner must present both a valid ID for that location and a current vehicle registration card showing the same address. If the registered owner of the vehicle cannot be present, their representative must present the current registration and a notarized letter from the registered owner authorizing the vehicle, identified by license plate number or VIN, to be released to the representative, identified by name and California Driver License number. Vehicle Documents 1. Current Registration Card or; 2. Current Report Of Deposit Of Fees and a moving permit or; 3. Current title (pink slip) showing current registration 4. Vehicle Registered Owner present Registered Owner with a valid United States issued form of identification 1. Valid California ID card or driver license or; 2.
