BYD is looking for candidates for welder and general assembler positions. Job description for welders includes installation of parts and components per work instructions; fabrication of parts and brackets as required using diagrams and/or engineering drawings; troubleshoot and assist with corrective measures, mechanical background; self-inspect continually during work shift; Mig/Tig welding, mild/stainless steel; ability to lift heavy objects; and certification is a plus. Job description for general assembler includes metal work experience, sheet metal, carpentry or construction background is a plus; skilled in reading comprehension, writing and basic math knowledge; understand and read blueprints; basic hand tools, shop tools, and equipment; competency in the use of measuring devices; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; and good organizational skills. Experience requirements includes high school diploma/GED, minimum of 2 years welding experience, highly skilled in Mig/Tig application (ferrous and alloy metals; stainless steel & aluminum, tape measurement and blueprint reading skills is a must, knowledgeable and skilled in the proper use of cutting (plasma, acetylene torch, shear) equipment, and welding certification is a must.
