FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: February 28, 2018 America’s Job Center of California to Host Hiring Event for SYGMA PALMDALE – The America’s Job Center of California (AJCC), located at 38510 Sierra Highway in Palmdale, will host a hiring event on Tuesday, March 6 at 9 am for SYGMA, a Sysco Company. Available full time positions and job duties include: Warehouse Selector • Receive incoming product and check against purchase order to ensure accuracy. Ensure all merchandise is properly tallied and a receiving date is tagged on all merchandise • Ensure all slots are stocked properly and all overstock is properly stacked • Pick product for routes as defined on the SWAT Equipment. Load product onto trailers for customer delivery. • Operate all company warehouse equipment in a safe and reliable manner. Forklift/Pallet Jack Technician • Responsible for repair work and preventive maintenance needed on equipment. • Provide support to the directory of maintenance and supervisory staff in the day-to- day operators of maintenance. • Must have extremely flexible work schedule. • Experience with the following repair jobs and functions: dry wall installation, plastering, painting, basic plumbing, basic electrical, rack installation, concrete work, carpentry, roll up doors, dock levers, and better than average welding/fabrication. Job requirements include possessing a high school diploma/GED; two years’ experience (for technician); and ability to pass drug test; use forklift, floor scrubber, pallet jack, and SWAT, and lift 50 lb. frequently and 95 lb. occasionally.
