FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: March 1, 2017 Palmdale Playhouse to Host Opening Reception “Our Peculiar Family–Macy Family Art” PALMDALE The Palmdale Playhouse, located at 38334 10th St. East in Palmdale, will celebrate the opening of its newest art exhibit titles “Our Peculiar Family – Macy Family Art.” The exhibit will open with a free reception on Thursday, March 16 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served. The Macy Family will be on hand to take part in discussions and answer questions about their art. “The Macy children discovered they excelled in art and music at a very young age,” said Palmdale Recreation Supervisor Annie Pagliaro. “Their eyes see beauty that others sometimes miss and in this beauty see purpose and meaning.” From a decrepit old building or the many colors found on a rusty old car, to the barren stillness of our desert valley, to a wondering child’s face, the Macy’s believe the world around them reflects the beauty and glory of its Creator. Working in a variety of mediums, they enjoy using graphite, colored pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, pastels, and paper collage. “Our Peculiar Family” will be on display from March 16 through May 7 in the Palmdale Playhouse. ---PAGE BREAK--- Tickets for all Palmdale Playhouse events may be purchased online at www.palmdaleplayhouse.com or at the Box Office beginning two hours before each show.
