FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITY OF PALMDALE NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: John Mlynar PHONE: 661/267-5115 DATE: January 10, 2018 African American Authors Book Club to Discuss Stay With Me PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library will host the next meeting of the African American Authors Book Club to discuss the novel Stay With Me by Ayòbámi Adébáyò on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 6:45 pm at the Library, located at 700 E. Palmdale Blvd. Stay With Me is a novel about a married Nigerian couple who must grapple with staggering levels of loss and betrayal in their quest to create a family for themselves. Secure in the love of her husband in spite of cultural pressures for him to have a polygamous marriage, Yejide is overwhelmed by shock and pain when her initial inability to become pregnant compels her husband to take a second wife, a situation that leads to her own desperate and fateful quest to conceive a child. The African American Authors Book Club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 6:45 pm. New members are welcome to attend. The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
