CITY OF PALMDALE NOTICE OF NONSUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO THE CITY’S 2010-2015 CONSOLIDATED PLAN NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to concerned members of the public that the City of Palmdale, California, has amended the 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan. AMENDMENT The City of Palmdale Neighborhood Services Department has submitted an amendment to adjust the goals provided in the 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan. PURPOSE OF AMENDMENT When a non-substantial change is proposed to any of the programs, projects or activities previously approved by HUD, the public must be notified of the change(s). BENEFIT TO THE CITY The specific purpose of this amendment is to update the numeric goals for the 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan. 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan Non-Substantial Amendment Original 2010-2015 Consolidated Plan Goals Revised Numeric Goal Comments Economic Development Goal 1: Accessibility for the purpose of creating economic opportunities 3,000 Jobs 8,050 Jobs The number of jobs created in this category is projected to be greater than originally anticipated for the 5-year period. Economic Development Goal 1: Sustainability for the purpose of creating economic opportunities 3 Businesses 0 Businesses The number of businesses expressing interest in commercial façade rehabilitation is fewer than expected. Homeless Goal 1: Homeless Accessibility for the purpose of creating suitable living environments 20,500 People 26,500 People The number of people served in this category is projected to be greater than originally anticipated for the 5-year period. Housing Goal 1 Financial Assistance for construction of new single family housing Financial assistance for construction of new multi- family housing units Loans and grants to assist first time homebuyers 10 Housing Units 40 Housing Units The number of new housing units in this category is projected to be greater than originally anticipated for the 5- year period. (Transit Village Townhomes) 200 Housing Units 156 Housing Units The number of units in this category is projected to be less than originally anticipated for the 5-year period. 20 Households 40 Households The number of households served in this category is projected to be greater than originally anticipated for the 5- year period. Section 8 Rental Assistance Voucher Program 5,000 Housing Units 8,000 Housing Units The LA County Housing Authority will exceed the previously anticipated number of Section 8 vouchers utilized in the City of Palmdale. Infrastructure Goal 1: Street Improvements, sidewalk improvements and street lighting Storm drains and sewer improvements ADA Improvements 40,000 People No Change The City is on pace to meet this goal. 1,374 People 40,000 People The number of people anticipated to benefit from improvements is greater than originally anticipated in the 5- year period. 350 Public Facilities 165 Public Facilities The number of public facilities anticipated to be improved is less than originally anticipated in the 5-year period.
