PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF PALMDALE DEPARTMENT OF NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES NOTICE OF NON-SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO THE CITY’S NEIGHBORHOOD STABILIZATION PROGRAM 2008-2009 ACTION PLAN NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to concerned members of the public that the City of Palmdale, California, has amended the Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2008/2009 Action Plan. AMENDMENT The City of Palmdale Department of Neighborhood Services has submitted an amendment to increase the amount of funding for the Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Disposition of Vacant Units and decrease the Direct Homeownership Assist & Housing Counseling. PURPOSE OF AMENDMENT When a non-substantial change is proposed to any of the programs, projects or activities previously approved by HUD, the public must be notified of the change(s). BENEFIT TO THE CITY The specific purpose of this amendment is to reallocate Neighborhood Stabilization Program Grant funds from the Direct Homeownership Assist & Housing Counseling activity to the Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Disposition of Vacant Units activity. The agreement with the nonprofit to provide Homebuyer Education in Palmdale was completed in March 2013. The required 8 hour workshop is available through HUD approved organizations. The City is actively seeking foreclosed properties to acquire, rehabilitate and resell to eligible households.
